Pet emergencies can happen at any time. Pet Hero AZ teaches pet Basic Life Support (BLS) for pet owners and veterinary professionals. Learn the signs of Cardiopulmonary Arrest (CPA) and how to respond accordingly before additional veterinary services can be performed.

Veterinary Professionals

Having a standardized approach to BLS and ALS provides veterinary professional staff with an organized approach to Cardiopulmonary Arrest (CPA) emergencies. Pet Hero AZ services range from non-certified in-person BLS training to Recover Initiative's in-person certification in BLS and ALS.

What is Recover Initiative?

Recover Initiative is an internationally recognized foundation that teaches the gold standard of veterinary CPR for pet owners and veterinary staff. Recover Initiative provides a standardized approach to Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) for pets.

Veterinary professionals who complete Recover Initiative's certification program attend both online and in-person modules.

Pet Owners

Understanding how to respond to a cardiopulmonary emergency for your pet can be a crucial step in providing immediate care and support until you can get your best friend to a veterinarian.

Pet Hero AZ teaches pet owners Basic Life Support (BLS) and how to recognize and respond to cardiopulmonary emergencies such as a blocked airway, breathing emergencies, and cardiac arrest. BLS courses are in-person and are two hours in length.

Learn Basic Life Support for your pet this summer at Yavapai College, Prescott Campus!

This course teaches students Basic Life Support techniques useful in recognizing and responding to cardiac and breathing emergencies in pets such as blocked airways and cardiac arrest. This class includes a powerpoint presentation followed by a live dog demonstration and manikin experience.
